Paul Shotton

Paul Shotton is the founder of White Diamond Risk Advisorya company that provides bespoke financial risk advisory services to boards of directors and executive management in the financial services sector, based in New York.

With a PhD in High Energy Physics from Oxford University followed by a Research Fellowship at CERN, Paul left academia and embarked the business world by joining Goldman Sachs as a quantitative trader for a good nine years. He then moved to become Head of Risk and worked for several of the world’s premier financial institutions, including JP Morgan Chase, Lehman Brothers and UBS.

Recognized as a World Thought Leader on Risk Management, Paul has a long-standing interest in bank regulation and systemic risk and is renowned in the risk management and banking regulatory communities. As such, he has been invited to speak at numerous industry forums, including events hosted by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS-Basel), the Bank of England and the UK Financial Services Authority, Yale School of Management, the London School of Economics, ETH-Zurich, the Risk Managers Association, the Professional Risk Managers International Association, the Global Association of Risk Professionals and Risk Magazine, among many other industry conferences.
